Thank you for your interest in being a guest on Writing On Whidbey Island! Most of our interviewees get scouted by our hosts and come on by invite – however, we are always seeking guests and are 100% open hearing from interested parties. Please be sure you understand the following particulars – if you think you are what we are looking for, by all means … contact us!
What we look for in our WOWI interviewees
At WOWI, we don’t do hard Q&A interviews – we prefer extemporaneous conversations. We like authentic individuals who can speak about their experience and share from their expertise. Each person has a unique perspective, and our audience wants to hear it!
Basic Guest Requirements …
- You have lived on … you guessed it — Whidbey Island for the past 12 months or more.
- You must be able to show that you are somehow involved in the literary writing community or industry – you are a published author, poet featured in a journal, accomplished audiobook narrator, employed as an editor, own a small independent publishing company, an illustrator who’s work is in books, et cetera. Song lyricists, computer code geeks, greeting card writers … that’s cool, but sorry, that isn’t our thing.
- If you are a soon-to-be (example) published author, and you think you have an angle that fits on the show – don’t let that stop you – let us know where things are at so we may consider your idea.
- Be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult.
Please understand that not all guest submissions get featured on the podcast. If your proposal is accepted, while arranging the recording date we will prepare you as to how a WOWI podcast session operates, including specific reference materials and other expectations of our guests.
